ALMOST 40,000 hipsters and rockers wound back the clock and got in to the swing of things at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival at the weekend.Chrome and slick hair with sideburns were the essential accessories as the combination of classic rock 'n' roll and cool cars had minds drifting back to a simpler time.Festival manager Jodi Tweed said this year's festival had attracted well in excess of the 30,000 people who filled the streets of the town for the two-day event last year."There is this whole subculture of people who love their rock 'n' roll and their cars," she said.Ms Tweed said the most popular events were the show and shine car competition, with almost 350 mean machines on display, and the best-dressed competition.
