Man charged with Lake shooting murder

A 36-YEAR-OLD man will face Newcastle Local Court today over the alleged shooting murder of James Nolan at a Bolton Point house.The police investigation took a dramatic turn yesterday when the chief suspect in the alleged shotgun slaying was arrested in a supermarket car park.The man had been wanted for questioning over the shooting of Mr Nolan, 42, on the doorstep of a Leumeah Close house on Saturday night. He was arrested in the car park of the Coles supermarket at Toronto about 3.40pm and taken to nearby Toronto police station where he was charged with murder late last night.The charge follows a two-day hunt for the suspect after Nolan was found dead at the front doorstep of the house in which the suspect was living.Nolan and his brother, Patrick, had gone to the house about 9pm.James Nolan was allegedly blasted once in the chest with a sawn-off shotgun.Patrick Nolan was not injured.A 26-year-old woman was charged last night with being an accessory after the fact.She will also appear in Newcastle Local Court today.
